Every year Recovery Month provides communities the opportunity to come together to celebrate people’s recovery journeys, challenge stigma and raise awareness of what support is available for people in Dundee.
Dundee has a wonderful recovery community, with many services and organisations working hard to support those on their recovery journeys. Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action (DVVA) have pulled together a programme of events with the support of recovery services and organisations.
September hosts a wide range of events across the city, which are being run by various recovery groups and services. These events aim to bring together as many people as possible to learn, celebrate and build a positive community.
Three of the bigger events taking place over the month include:
- A celebration of nature and recovery at Douglas Community Centre, on Friday 5th September.
- Street Soccer will host a family gala day at the Change Centre, on Friday 19th September.
- People will be sharing their recovery journeys and stories at the Steeple Church in the city centre, on Friday 26th September.
Whether you or someone you know is looking for support, advice, or a chance to connect with others, there is something for everyone.
You can find the full programme of events here.
